Pigeon Sashimi, and similiar apocalypses

I saw a documentary recently where these pigeons would flee the crowded, dirty city and line up along the wide, green banks of the river. They sat so prettily and drank so daintily, these flying rats transformed into something almost genteel. They were so tame and so docile that they would barely react when one of them was eaten by a catfish.
